Tech giant Acer hacked again. Millions of customer data stolen.

Hack group Desorden claims to have stolen more than 60 gigabytes of data belonging to Taiwanese tech giant Acer.

The announcement of the sale of information appeared on the famous RAID hacker forum. According to the seller, the dump was obtained after hacking the company’s Indian servers and contains corporate, financial and audit documents, details of millions of customers, as well as credentials of Acer retailers and distributors. To prove their words, the attackers provided samples of the stolen data, as well as a video showing the rest of the files.

Interestingly, earlier representatives Disorder claimed to demand ransom from targeted organizations and sell stolen data on the black market only if the victim refused to pay.

The Record reports that representatives of Acer have already confirmed the fact of the hack.

“We recently discovered a separate attack on a local aftermarket in India. After discovering [взлома] we immediately launched security protocols and performed a full scan of our systems. We are already notifying all affected customers. The incident was reported to local law enforcement agencies and the Indian CERT, but the incident did not have a significant impact on our activities and continuity of work, ”- commented in the company.

Let me remind you that this is not the first attack that Acer faced this year: in the spring the company suffered from an attack by the REvil ransomware, and then the attackers demanded a gigantic ransom from the manufacturer in the amount of $ 50,000,000.
