Android Go Reaches 200 million users After Android 12 Update

Android Go, an Android operating system designed for low-cost and low-end smartphones, has reached 200 million users at the end of December 2021, starting with the Android 12 operating system update.

The first operating series available for Android Oreo, Android Go is intended for smartphones with a RAM capacity of 2 GB and below, but later on, only a few entry-level devices with the Android Go operating system can receive the Andoid 12 update.

Update from Android 12 will bring a number of features from the newly released standard Android 12 to more devices. Especially, phones with Android 12 (Go edition) which have the advantage of opening applications 30% faster and with smoother animations.

Google also added that the app will open without any delay, eliminating short periods where users may see a blank screen. There are other features such as a privacy dashboard, available in the standard version of Android 12, allowing Users to view and access app permissions from a single hub.

It can also use the on-screen translation tool, automatic app hibernation that helps save phone battery life, along with a handy feature that allows Users to share apps with nearby devices, preventing other users from having to use data to download them themselves.

The number of features of Android 12, for the Android Go series is very competent, even though it’s still not clear which device entry which levels will get the Android 12 update (Go edition) or when exactly the update will roll out.

Google says to The Verge that the feature is scheduled for 2022 but has not set a specific date, it could be in conjunction with the latest CES event which can also introduce what products will get the application.
