Spokko Studios, part of CD PROJEKT, have announced the release date for “The Witcher: Monster Slayer”, a new RPG set in the Witcher universe with augmented reality. The game is distributed free-to-play on iOS and Android. The public launch will take place on July 21st.
The Witcher: Monster Hunter takes place long before the events of The Witcher series by CD PROJEKT RED. In those days, the vastness of the continent was inhabited by bloodthirsty monsters, sowing horror and destruction, and the world needed witchers – professional killers of monsters. In the game, the surrounding space, thanks to the technology of augmented reality (AR), turns into a fantasy world full of dangers and teeming with monsters. Taking on the role of witchers, players will have to hunt down, explore and fight monsters – both familiar and brand new.
Ahead of the release, studio Spokko also announced that Android users can pre-register at Google Play to get the Steel Sword from Kaer Morhen, which increases the experience points earned from killing monsters by 10%. The item will be added to players’ inventories on launch day to help newcomers to the witchcraft on their adventures across the continent.
