At first glance, a standard iOS photo application looks very simple: thumbnails of photos and the dates during which they were taken. But in reality it can do much more. For example, did you know that Photos can fit all of your photos onto a 3D map?
It is both a beautiful and convenient way to view photos. Viewing all of your shots from a bird’s eye view is much more fun than just watching one photo after another! In addition, you can find similar pictures in this way. All in all, let’s try it!
How to activate 3D card with your photos on iPhone or iPad
First of all, open the photo you are interested in and make a swipe up (see photo below).
And now we already see a lot more details:
– The place where the photo was taken;
– If there are people in the photo, iOS will try to recognize them and show you all the photos with each person;
– Map with photo icons applied to it;
– Section Similar (probably does not need any comments).
But the most interesting feature here – Flyover – brings photos to a 3D map and you can watch your adventures geolocated. Here’s how to enable it:
- Click on the photo on the map;
- Please select Show photo nearby;
If the section “Show next photo » you do not have it, then the photo was taken with georeferencing turned off, which can be turned on along the way Settings → Confidentiality (here you need to enable Location Services). Then go down to the section Camera and choose an option When using the program.
If the section “Show next photo » available, do the following:
- Tap the i icon in the lower right corner of the screen;
- Select the Satellite view;
- Tap 3D Map.
Done – now all your photos taken near this place will appear on a 3D map. Looks fantastic!
PS Do not forget that all this is possible – and necessary! – send to Apple TV.
