When announcing its new chip recently, Intel launched an attack on Mac devices, focusing on the gaming experience
Intel recently revealed the performance of Windows PCs and Macs. The company says that Windows PCs offer better gaming performance, than all Apple’s Macbook products.
Intel further substantiates its claims with graphics showing a 16-inch MacBook Pro based on Intel, sporting a Core i9 9980HK processor with AMD Radeon Pro 5600M, compared to a PC with a Core i5 11400H processor with a GeForce RTX 3060. Intel-branded PCs performed better in every test selected by the company. This has led to claims that Intel-based PCs offer “a better gaming experience than 100% Mac laptops.”
Not only that the company mentions almost all popular games are currently not available on MacOS. Some of the popular games that Intel is referring to are APEX Legends, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Call of Duty Warzone, Cyberpunk 2077, and Dead by Daylight. In addition, Genshin Impact, Grand Theft Auto V, Grid, Hitman 3, Enlisted, Monster Hunter, Overwatch, and PUBG. Likewise, Rainbow Six Siege, ROBLOX, Rocket League, Valheim, Valorant, Warframe, to War Thunder.
The company went on to argue that there is significant overlap between makers and gamers, suggesting that a large part of the Mac user base is not adequately accommodated due to the limited gaming options on their systems.
Intel appears to be making gaming its top priority convincing customers that the chips in Windows machines present consumers with a much better choice than Macs with Apple’s silicon.
Intel’s claim is not entirely wrong, but that opinion has nothing to do with Intel. The reason is, almost all computer games are designed to run on the x86 version of Windows. Few developers make games for the x86 version of MacOS or Linux as an additional platform.
In addition, Intel is also considered wrong because the game has nothing to do with Intel chips and anything related to Windows, as the game studio’s preferred platform.
Those who buy a Mac also generally don’t make the device for gaming. However, if you look at other comparisons from Dolphin emulator developers, for example, devices with Apple’s M1 chip are actually better than Intel.
Previously Recognition came from Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President for Software. He revealed macOS has its own malware problem, and currently the macOS operating system on Mac devices has quite a lot of malware when compared to the iOS operating system. This is because Apple lets its users install software from the internet for Mac that can be exploited on a regular basis.
He also mentioned that the security in the MacOS operating system is different from the iOS operating system, which is on iPhone devices because it has higher standards for consumer protection. Quoted Engadget, currently, the level of malware on Mac, which is considered unacceptable and it is much worse than iOS.
In addition, it is also mentioned that Apple has detected and removed more than 130 types of malware found on Mac devices in 2020. This shows how much new malware is present to attack users.
Even so, in fact this still depends on the user himself. The reason is that all devices must remain safe from malware as long as they don’t download malicious files from the internet.
