Kaspersky Lab is working on a secure Smartphone and OS for Corporates

At the MWC in Barcelona, Kaspersky Lab spoke about the details of its work on a secure smartphone. This was announced by Pavel Kushelev in his podcast “WHAT TO SPEAK ABOUT”.

According to Kushelev, a protected operating system and a smartphone have become the highlight of the Kaspersky Lab’s exposition. These new products are intended primarily for the corporate sector.

The operating system was named Kaspersky OS. It is a microkernel system, in which the emphasis was placed on security. Due to the small kernel, the amount of operating system code turned out to be small. One of the main advantages is a process security manager who monitors various data leaks in real time. All operating system principles are described as cyberimmunity. In other words, the OS will prevent data loss or theft through glitches or vulnerabilities. So far, Kaspersky OS works only on routers and gates for the Internet of Things (IoT).

It also became known that Kaspersky Lab is working on a secure phone for the corporate sector. The company showed three prototypes on hardware from different manufacturers. Unfortunately, the demo was only for exhibitors, so there are no product photos.

Pavel Kushelev notes that protected smartphones can be presented in the fall. According to Kaspersky Lab, the device is not designed for the consumer market. Their main task is to make the most secure device for the corporate sector and security forces.
