Lenovo has held a presentation of the Legion 2 Pro gaming smartphone in China. It will compete with ASUS ROG Phone 5 and Xiaomi Black Shark 4 Pro and surpasses these devices in a number of parameters.
Legion 2 Pro uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with an integrated 5G modem and a 6.92-inch E4 AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2460 x 1080 pixels), 144 Hz frame rate, 720 Hz sensor layer polling rate, 1300 nits peak brightness , 111% DCI-P3 color space coverage, Delta E value less than 0.5, HDR10 + support, and low flicker at reduced brightness. Matrix protection is provided by fifth generation Gorilla glass.
Front camera 44-megapixel, with Samsung GH1 sensor and 4K video recording. The main camera is triple – with a 64 megapixel main sensor, which is accompanied by a 16 megapixel wide-angle and a 2 megapixel macromodule.
The Legion 2 Pro features a 5,500mAh battery with 90W fast dual-port charging (0 to 82% in 17 minutes). Through one port, you can charge a smartphone with a power of up to 67W, the same power is provided for wireless charging, and reversible wireless charging is 10W.
On the right side there is a fingerprint scanner for unlocking the system, entering applications and confirming payments. Unlocking can also be done using a selfie camera.
Legion 2 Pro scores more than 855 thousand points in AnTuTu – this is one of the maximum indicators. It is achieved by using the industry’s largest evaporation chamber with an area of 4,730 square millimeters and two 29mm fans that remove heat from the case, so the processor and video chip do not drop the clock frequency and can operate at maximum performance for a long time. There are 14 temperature sensors inside the case, which determine the degree of heating of various elements and activate active cooling where it is required, and with such an intensity that does not interfere with comfortable gaming. The same experience is used in the Lenovo Legion series gaming laptops.
Unfortunately, Legion 2 Pro is thick and heavy due to the superfluous filling. Hands can get tired from playing for a long time on such a device, so you have to take frequent breaks or place your smartphone on a stand.
On the back, including in the Legion logo and under the fan blades, there is RGB lighting, which has become almost an indispensable attribute of any gaming smartphones. There are additional buttons for control in games on the back and on the side faces, giving significant advantages over rivals.
Legion 2 Pro is compatible with 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G networks. Supports two SIM-cards, and the operating system is Android 11 with a proprietary Legion shell. There is no NFC module in this model, it is possible that it will appear in the international version, the release of which will be announced later.
