AirTag was created to make it easy and quick to find your belongings – for example, a backpack or keys. However, it may happen that the tag is outside the Bluetooth range of your iPhone. But that’s not a problem either – thanks to the Find My network in the app of the same name, you can still find it using other Apple devices nearby.
But what if Latitude does not show the current, but only the last location of the AirTag on the map? In this case, Lost Mode can help you. Enabling it is quite simple: open the Latitude application, select the “Things” item and find the required AirTag among them:
Now click on it, then swipe up to open all the settings. Select Lost Mode and enable it. You will need to enter a contact phone number and, if desired, a message to the finder:
It is also worth activating the “Notify on detection” item: in this case, if the Latitude network detects your tag, you will receive a notification on your iPhone about this.
After all these actions, in front of AirTag in the Locator, information should appear that Lost Mode is on. And now anyone who finds the tag can bring it to an iPhone or Android smartphone with NFC, after which he will be prompted to visit the Apple website, where your message and contact number will be indicated.
