MacBook Pro with M1 Max chip defeats competitors in performance test

Last night Apple unveiled two MacBook Pro laptops based on its own single-chip platform. Almost immediately after the presentation, the first test results of the novelty in the Geekbench benchmark appeared on the network.

The testing involved a MacBook Pro running on the flagship M1 Max chip with 10 computing and 32 graphics cores. According to the test results, the laptop scored 1,749 and 11,542 points in the single-core and multi-core tests, respectively.

In single-core mode, the new chip shows almost identical performance as last year’s Apple M1, but in multi-core mode the result is impressive, the new product is almost twice as fast as its predecessor. The closest competitor in performance is the 2019 Professional Mac Pro Station, which is powered by a 12-core / 24-thread Intel Xeon W-3235 processor.
