The businessman was 75 years old. McAfee founded it in 1987, since 2011 it belongs to Intel Corporation.

McAfee was arrested in Spain last year. The US authorities have accused him of tax evasion. The businessman faced a prison sentence of up to five years for each count of tax evasion and one year for each count of not filing tax returns.

The prosecution noted that McAfee received millions of dollars, in particular, in cryptocurrencies, for paid consultancies and speeches. The businessman himself described himself as a victim of political persecution. On June 23, a Spanish court approved the extradition of McAfee’s founder to the United States.
