Free Fire game developer Garena collaborates with Formula 1 racing team McLaren Racing. Harold Teo, Producer of Free Fire, said that this collaboration will not only bring future inspiration from McLaren to the game, but the two teams also collaborate to present McLaren’s future Supercar which is named “MCLFF”, short for McLaren-Free Fire.
The design of the MCLFF supercar was worked on by the Free Fire team together with the McLaren Racing design team, who took inspiration from other McLaren racing cars, such as the Mclaren-MCL35M Formula 1 car series.
The McLaren P1 was designed, built and created to be the best driving car in the world. Meanwhile, the MCLFF will represent McLaren’s vision for the future, where Grand Prix racing meets the era of advanced technology.
In this collaboration, McLaren fans can drive McLaren’s flagship cars in the universe of Free Fire. They can select the MCLFF & McLaren P1 display skin right from their device and drive around the Bermuda, Kalahari, or Purgatory and #BattleInStyle maps.
“We hope that players can enjoy the best content from the collaboration of McLaren Racing and Free Fire. Collaboration like this allows us to provide new experiences for current players and attract other people to try Free Fire, “added Harold.
Not only that, Free Fire players will be able to bring their car for a test drive on a race track that will be present on the Training Island Free Fire map.
Players can complete their racing look by using the exclusive McLaren Racing x Free Fire collection for their in-game characters. One of these includes the driver’s overalls uniform in McLaren’s signature color, namely McLaren papaya and blue, colors chosen directly by McLaren founder Bruce McLaren.
This collaboration will also introduce various elements inspired by McLaren into Free Fire, from the moment players enter the game to engage in battle. Some of these elements include the Gloowall Skin, surfboards, airships, and emotes inspired directly by McLaren.
Mark Waller, Chief Commercial Officer, McLaren Racing added, “ Our fans are always looking for ways to stay connected to our racing team and the presence of this collaboration will give them access in new and exciting ways. This is a brilliant collaboration at a time when the gaming industry continues to grow, and McLaren wants to be a part of that growth.
