In a note to investors, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a good track record in anticipating Apple’s news, made your bets in relation to the next lines of iPhones. For Kuo, the 2021 line should not bring much news. They should basically be enhanced versions of the current four devices in the iPhone 12 line, with the same screen sizes. On the outside, the only change should be a smaller notch at the top of the screen.
Kuo also predicts that the next iPhones will continue to use the Lightning cable, not the USB-C, which is already used in some iPad models. For the middle of this year, the Apple should launch a new version of the iPhone SE with 5G, thus having an entry model with 5G in the countries where these networks are already enabled.
Bigger design changes should stick to the 2022 line. For next year, Kuo projects that Apple will end the ‘notch’ of the iPhone. In place of the ‘notch’, there will be only one ‘hole’ on the screen for the front camera, a design similar to that used in the Galaxy S line and other competitors.
