Oppo officially introduced its first folding flagship smartphone, the Oppo Find N, on the second day of the Oppo Inno Day 2021 technology exhibition, (15/12/2021).
Pete Lau, Oppo’s Chief Product Officer explained that the Oppo Find N is Oppo’s first folding phone that is equipped with a number of superior technologies. For example, in the aspect of the screen and hinges.
“As a leading technology company, we continuously strive to make the world a better place through the development of innovative technologies and products. Although the journey towards each technological breakthrough is full of challenges, we are consistent to continue it step by step, to achieve the ‘Inspiration Ahead’ as stated in the Oppo brand proposition,” said Pete Lau.
Here are the specifications carried by the Oppo Find N
Oppo Find N comes with Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 888 Mobile Platform, up to 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512 GB UFS 3.1 storage. The Find N has a large 4,500mAh battery. Meanwhile, SUPERVOOC Flash Charge 33W is able to charge the battery quickly and reach 55% battery capacity in just 30 minutes, or up to 100% full capacity in just 70 minutes.
The device also comes with 15W AIRVOOC wireless charging (Qi standard compatible) and 10W reverse wireless charging. OPPO Find N includes a fingerprint scanner placed on the power button, as well as a dual speaker system and Dolby Atmos technology to deliver more lifelike sound.
Comes with a waterdrop-shaped design that widens the fold angle on the screen, Flexion Hinge on the Oppo Find N functions as a buffer when the screen is folded. In addition, Flexion Hinge also eliminates gaps between screens when folded, offering a more integrated display and protecting the inner screen from scratches.
The gear and spring structure in the Flexion Hinge allows the device to stand upright when the screen is opened at an angle of between 50 and 120 degrees. Equipped with various software specifically designed for foldable smartphones, the FlexForm Mode on the Oppo Find N gives users the flexibility to use the device in various scenarios.
Oppo Find N has a 7.1-inch screen that is able to provide a visual display that is 60% larger than the standard 6.5-inch screen. A larger screen will certainly provide a more immersive visual experience, and allow the development of various productivity-related software or perform several activities simultaneously.
The screen on the Oppo Find N consists of 12 layers of Serene Display which provides excellent protection and durability. Serene Display also synergizes with Flexion Hinge perfectly so that the device folds smoothly. The Oppo Find N screen consists of a 0.03mm Flexion UTG (ultra-thin glass) layer which is smaller than the 0.6mm standard smartphone glass, so the screen can be bent easily and provides strong durability. Serene Display is also very reliable and can be folded and unfolded smoothly up to more than 200,000 times without causing crease lines on the screen. This has also been verified by TUV.
The inner screen uses an LTPO display with smart dynamic refresh rate technology that can adjust the refresh rate in the range of 1 to 120 Hz based on the content currently being viewed by the user. The inner screen also has a touch sampling rate of up to 1,000 Hz.
Oppo Find N comes with the latest hand-gesture features so you can perform multiple activities simultaneously at once more easily. When using certain applications, users can swipe down on the screen using two fingers to activate the split-screen feature and separate the screen into two different individual views on the right and left screens.
In addition, the user also performs a pressing motion with four fingers to change the full-screen window into a floating window. Users can also perform traditional gestures such as long press or drag-and-drop an app icon to activate the feature. In fact, users can also save frequently used application settings in split-screen easily on the home screen.
The Oppo Find N software has been optimized and allows users to switch from the outer screen to the inner screen or vice versa. When you open the phone, the display will switch from the outer screen to the inner screen. Conversely, when folding the device, the user can slide the outer screen up to use the same function on the outer screen. In addition, the appearance of the keyboard is also adjusted when using the larger inner screen. Users can activate the split keyboard feature so that users can use two thumbs to type and increase productivity while working.
Oppo Find N is equipped with three flagship cameras to take high-quality photos and record videos. The camera is a 50 MP Sony IMX 766 main sensor, a 16 MP ultra-wide lens and a 13 MP telephoto lens, as well as a selfie camera on the inside and outside screens. Combined with the new shape and FlexForm Mode, Oppo Find N uses software adapted for foldable smartphones and provides a more engaging camera experience.
The rear camera can be used to take higher quality selfies. Users can use the external screen to preview the selfie before taking the photo. Taking selfies can also be done with the hand gesture feature, so users stay in the frame without having to press the camera shutter button.
The Oppo Find N comes in three different colors. The Black color combines a shimmering matte glass and a new film lamination technique to achieve a subtle and stunning shimmer effect on the base coat. The White color is inspired by a white ceramic glaze with glossy glass and a smooth texture combined with a ceramic camera plate to create a consistent feel. The color Purple is inspired by a luxury perfume bottle which uses several layers of special film to create the illusion of light and shadow with a transparent texture.
