Adobe released the first version of Photoshop optimized for the Apple Silicon Mac, which should now run much faster. In addition, DaVinci Resolve and DaVinci Fusion have also been updated.
- Photoshop now works 1.5 times faster.
- Several Photoshop features will receive M1 support in the future.
- DaVinci Resolve and Fusion now also support the M1 Mac.
Adobe announced that Photoshop now officially supports M1 Macs and even runs faster on them. Thanks to optimization, the program’s performance has become better, namely, one and a half times faster than on Intel Mac.
The company writes that this is just the beginning as it will continue to work with Apple to further optimize performance.
Some features still need to be improved to work on the Apple Silicon Mac. These include template sync and cloud document editing. Otherwise, everything works at its best.
If you need features that have not yet been optimized for the M1 Mac, you can still use the Intel version via the Rosetta system for now.
Photoshop for iPad
Photoshop for iPad introduces two new features: version history of documents from the cloud and the ability to work with those documents offline. Camera Raw has a new feature based on machine learning Super Resolution.
As a reminder, the M1 Mac version of Lightroom is out now.
Last year Apple released new MacBook Air, Mac mini and MacBook Pro with their own processor. More Apple Silicon models are coming soon, and the company plans to make a full transition afterwards.
DaVinci Resolve и Fusion
Video editing software DaVinci Resolve and DaVinci Fusion also officially support the M1 Mac. In addition, they have over 100 new features.
DaVinci Fusion 17.1 introduces new HDR tools, improved color management, the ability to automatically isolate objects, and more. DaVinci Resolve 17.1 has all the features of the Fusion 17 update, including new effects and modifiers.
