Google has updated the Play Store – a store from which you can download applications, games and other content (movies, books). The update is already available for most of the users.
This is one of the largest Play Store redesigns in recent years, almost all elements of the application have undergone changes. There is no longer a hamburger menu to the left of the search bar, and in order to navigate to your apps, games, payment methods, and more, you need to tap your profile photo.
The settings menu is divided into four categories:
- General (account information, auto-update, auto-play video options, and more)
- User Controls (Fingerprint Management and Purchase Authentication)
- “Family” (parental control and parenting guide)
- “About the program” (contains information about the version of the application)
Play Store will be updated on all user devices soon. If this does not happen, open system settings, go to the list of installed applications, find the Play Store (aka Google Play) and force stop it. After that, start the Play Store again – a new design should appear.
Currently, the redesign has affected the main part of the Play Store interface, while the pages of games, applications and other content remain intact. It is possible that Google will make changes in their design. Traditionally, this can be done on the eve of or during a conference for I / O developers. This year’s event will take place online from May 18 to 20. It will feature a new version of Android, which is already undergoing testing both inside Google and by third-party developers and enthusiasts.
