Qualcomm just introduced its newest chipset aimed at entry-level laptops, both Windows based and Chrome OS based. This brand-new chipset is named Snapdragon 7c Gen 2.
Qualcomm says this chipset is able to improve the experience of entry-level devices, because it is equipped with a number of updates. Starting from enhanced camera and audio capabilities, integrated LTE connectivity, to high battery life.
“Laptops supported by this platform will redefine mobile computing for users in education, frontline workers, and light daily use, “said the Senior Director of Product Management Qualcomm Miguel Nunes in an official statement received on Thursday (27/5/2021).
It was further explained that Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 also offers better system performance, including a smoother browsing experience and a more responsive user experience.
Other than that, this chipset is also supported by the fifth-generation AI Engine to support the utilization of software that users will use. Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 is said to offer more immersive and powerful entertainment, both in terms of audio and visuals.
In addition, it comes with a built-in protection system to help keep user data safe. The first device using Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 will be released in the summer of this year.
One company that is known to be using chipset this is Lenovo. Chief Marketing Officer of Lenovo Intelligent Devices Group Emily Ketchen said Lenovo plans to release new devices with Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 in late 2021.
