Xiaomi is rumored to be re-releasing the Redmi Note 8. The presence of the device was strengthened after the Note 8 appeared on the United States FCC certification page. In the list the Redmi Note 8 has the model number M1908C3JGG.

So far, Redmi hasn’t revealed the launch date for the Note 8 2021, but a teaser for the new phone’s design has been circulating on Twitter.

Posters shared by Redmi, as quoted from Gizchina, reveal the Note 8 2021 will pack a drop notch display, like the Note 8.

The teaser image also confirms that the Note 8 2021 will arrive in blue, but it is likely that there will be more options available.

Also, the image tells us that the Note 8 2021 has a SIM card slot on its left side frame.

Redmi Note 8 2021 Teaser ReleasedYou don’t see the power button and volume rocker here as they are placed on opposite sides. However, the poster does not show the back of the smartphone and it remains to be seen whether the rear design will be similar to the original Note 8 or whether Redmi chooses a different display.

In a series of previous tweets, the smartphone is confirmed to run on the MediaTek G85 platform along with a 4,000 mAh battery and will ship with MIUI 12.5 out of the box. Redmi Note 8 2019 launched with Snapdragon 665 and with the same 4,000 mAh battery.

Additionally, @Xiaomiui’s string of tweets provides a bit more detail, such as 22.5W fast charging (an increase over 18W on the current Note 8) and a quad-camera setup, with a 48MP main camera. It is expected that the storage will go up to 128GB.

Another rumor has it that the handset will be available in certain markets, including the EU and Russia. And maybe, the other specifications won’t be too different from the previous Redmi Note 8.

As is well known, the Redmi Note 8 debuted with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie which was later updated to MIUI 11 and MIUI 12. The handset even got Android 10. As promised the company has started rolling out the Android 11 update for this phone.
