Rumor: Android 12 Update and Pixel 6 series launch will be delayed

Google will delay the release of an updated version of Android this year. Apparently, the final stage of testing was delayed to a later date than originally anticipated.

Google planned to release several test builds of Android 12, of which four are relatively stable builds, after which the official release of the update was supposed to take place. Another intermediate point was added to the update roadmap – the fifth beta.

With an unusually large number of changes to Android this year, Google engineers are now honing the stability of the operating system, paying particular attention to ensuring compatibility with various applications and devices.

Usually, testing the beta build of Android takes about a month, from which we can conclude that the official release of the update will be delayed by about this period. Over the years, Google has released annual Android updates in different months, but recently they have been released either in late summer or early fall. Taking into account the adjusted timeline, it can be assumed that the Android release will take place either in October or even later in the fall.

Rumors have it that along with the release of Android 12, updates to several Google apps (including the Play Store) have been delayed, as well as the release of the flagship Pixel 6 series smartphones.
