The Fan Edition series is a relatively young lineup, which until recently included only a smartphone. Now Samsung has expanded the lineup with a tablet. According to the company’s intention, FE devices are primarily aimed at fans of the South Korean brand, taking into account all their wishes.
Galaxy Tab S7 FE is made in a form factor with straight, if you can call it that, “chopped” edges. The screen occupies the entire front panel, and at the top there is a selfie camera and a light sensor. Notably, Samsung places these elements in the middle in a landscape position. This is very convenient since tablets are most often used in this mode.
The back and sides are made of brushed metal with plastic inserts, which have built-in antennas for receiving a wireless signal. At the top there is a microphone hole and a speaker grill, at the bottom – a USB-C port and another speaker. On the left side there is a connector for connecting additional accessories, and on the right side there is a power key, volume control buttons, another microphone and a tray for SIM and microSD memory cards.
We have on review a version of the tablet in a soft green color, which has an interesting feature to change the shade depending on the lighting. The Galaxy Tab S7 FE comes with an S Pen, USB-C cable and 15-watt adapter. The device supports 55W charging, so if you want to charge your gadget even faster, you will have to buy an additional power supply separately.
The diagonal of the TFT display is 12.4 inches. It is worth noting that with such a large screen, the tablet is only 6.3 mm thick and weighs 608 g. There are no complaints about the Galaxy Tab S7 FE’s clarity thanks to the WQXGA resolution (2560 × 1600) with a pixel density of 243 ppi.
Despite the lack of a high hertz, the screen is quite smooth and responsive. There is a special option in the settings to increase the sensitivity. It will be useful in several situations for controlling the tablet through a protective film or glass, as well as with gloves.
The rest of the display makes a rather pleasant impression. The color rendition is rich and all shades look juicy. At different viewing angles, the screen does not lose much brightness and readability. The 16:10 aspect ratio provides a cinematic experience for watching movies and TV shows. The maximum brightness is 500 nits indoors and 600 nits outdoors. The width of the frames is 8.9 mm.
The audio system of the Galaxy Tab S7 FE was handled by the AKG brand. The tablet has support for Dolby Atmos playback for surround sound. It is activated in the quick settings panel. The sound of the tablet is very decent.
Built-in speakers provide a good headroom and can swing low frequencies. The tablet can be used as a desktop audio system for listening to music and podcasts in the background.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G is responsible for the performance in the Galaxy Tab S7 FE. It delivers stable FPS in all the most demanding games at medium settings. At the same time, the case heats up slightly even during long gaming sessions.
The tablet is available in two variants 4/64 and 6/128 GB. We reviewed the base model. In the AnTuTu benchmark, it scored just over 355,000 points. During testing, the proprietary One UI shell worked smoothly without jams in the interfaces.
The Galaxy Tab S7 FE has a 10,090mAh battery with 55W fast charging support. For everyday scenarios with entertainment content and communication on the network, a 100% charge at a stretch can be enough for 3 days. Heavy games will significantly drop this indicator.
From a 55 watt adapter, it takes approximately three hours to charge the tablet from 0 to 100 percent. The device takes longer to charge with the included charger. This is not critical if you charge your tablet at night.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE runs Android 11 out of the box with One UI 3.1. The company managed to make a memorable interface design, which has become a hallmark of all current models. Nevertheless, users have a fairly wide space for customizing the operating system.
S Pen and cameras
The S Pen can be used as a professional tool. It recognizes 4096 pressure levels. The stylus has a response time of only 30 ms, and the accessory does not require recharging. Magnets in the case allow you to attach it to the back or to the edges of the tablet. The Samsung Notes app lets you translate handwritten notes you take with the S Pen into text.
In my opinion, the main camera module for a tablet is not so important, since it is inconvenient to take pictures on a device of this size. Nevertheless, I will note a few points. The interface of the shooting app will be familiar to all Samsung fans. At the top of the screen there are settings, and at the bottom there are a switch of modes, including “Multi-shot”, “Photo”, “Video recording”, “PRO”, “Panorama”, “Food”, “Night”, “Portrait”, “Hyperlapse” and AR sketching.
The photos are pretty average. What to expect from very modest characteristics: 8 MP main and 5 MP front. For video communication, this is quite enough, but for everything else, as a rule, there is always a smartphone with the highest quality module at hand.

- Battery: 10,090mAh, fast charging 55W

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE sales start on June 10. The cost of the device in Russia will start at 49,990 rubles. Among the main advantages of the device are good battery life, high-quality screen and decent sound. The tablet can be positioned as a device for the consumption of entertainment content. In this case, use cases can be scaled to a graphics tool using the S Pen. Perhaps with this model Samsung decided to compete with the iPad Air.
